Hi folks. The non-profit library where I volunteer does its cataloguing on 20 year old computers using a DOS app (CCLW); CCLW is apparently compiled BASIC and has problems on any chip running faster than around 66mhz. I'm replacing the computers asap.

We'll be doing a retrospective conversion of databases in about 6 months, but I need to be able to continue using the old DOS program on some new machines, until after the conversion when we'll have state of the art library software.

As we'll likely be getting two or three low-end Dell desktops (WinXP) in the next week or two, can you recommend software to "slow down" the cpu to allow these old compiled BASIC programs to run? I use CPU-Killer at home; I think it adds NOPs to in effect slow down the chip, but I wondered what you all might recommend.

    Thanks.
    Tom

CPUKiller is what I use. Only way to get the old MahJong to work.
