    Hi All,

Sorry to be a pain again.

I have recently had to reformat my hard drive and lost everything on it (ouch). Having put most things back on again I now find that my internet is real slow most of the time.

Here is my HJTv2 log. I hope someone here could analise this and advise me on what programs I could remove from the background in order to speed things up.

You omitted the top part of your log.

I suspect that PeerGuardian is interfering with your internet connection.

Except for Avast antivirus, none of the other O4 startup entries need to run in the background.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

How do I stop these programs from starting automatically from boot up? I type 'SERVICES.MSC' from the run command but I cannot find these programs in the services window that is displayed.

    Cheers,

Start - Run - MSCONFIG - OK - "Startup" tab.

You qualify yourself as a "Beginner", so be careful about editing the Services list.

If you want to learn more about what's in the Services list and which ones your computer can do without running on automatic, make use of this site.
