right click the hijack icon run as administrator

sometimes this does not work if it does not

start my comp C drive programme files hijack this open the folder see the icon there right click it run as admin...

after your log has been looked at AFTER !!!!!!!!!! go to start type msconfig enter that, top tab ..start up ... untick all except anti vi re boot

    then

start type services enter that you will need to do some reasearch then as you have 3 times the amount of programmes running i do hence why comp feels like its running uphill

C'mon daz1. Messin' with HJT logs again and an unrelated link in your post? You trying to find out what the basement of that doghouse (referenced in your signature) feels like?

You can have the link as part of your signature, but edit it out of your post so that I do not have to, please.

And clean up the rest of the post. I think I know what you are trying to say, but it doesn't come across very well. Considering your "dog house" status you would be well advised to run away from HJT posts as fast as I usually do.

Press the Windows key + R to open a Run box.

    Type msconfig.

    Select the Startup tab.

    Uncheck the following items:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MSConfig] "C:\Windows\system32\msconfig.exe" /auto

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SynTPEnh] C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe"

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SigmatelSysTrayApp] C:\Program Files\SigmaTel\C-Major Audio\WDM\sttray.exe

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WMPNSCFG] C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\WMPNSCFG.exe

    Reboot the computer.

    ===================================================================

You should consider a much lighter and effective alternative to your CA security software. Try the free Microsoft Security Essentials or Avira Antivir.

    daz1,

I also believe I understand what you meant and therefore the link is relevant to that, however, your reply is disrepectful to the moderator and this is not the first time as you have a habit of showing a lack of respect for the administration and the site in general as well as continuously posting unclear, poorly constructed instructions with few details on how to accomplish the task at hand. This is not the type of assistance we wish to provide to the people who come here for help.

In view of the above and the multiple previous rules violations and displays of uncceptable behaviour that you've been warned about and made no effort to correct, we are banning your account permanently.

Go into Control Panel - User Accounts, then turn off the User Account Control(UAC) feature, then restart your computer.

This is the feature in Windows Vista that causes the screen to dim and display a permissions message whenever you want to do certain things with your computer.

Besides it being annoying to some people(including me), it prevents HijackThis from working and displaying a log properly in some computers.

    --------------------------------------------------

Besides the fact your computer has CA Internet Security Suite installed and running(which is very system-hungry), it has too many programs and services auto-loading and running in the background.

A bloated startup load will lengthen startup time, slow down overall speed and performance, and increase the risk of conflicts and freezes and error messages.

Phantom010 has already given you instructions for trimming down that bloated startup load. Once that's done and a new HiJackThis log is submitted, we can go from there.

You can also uncheck iTunesHelper and QuickSet in the startup list.

Be aware that whenever you use iTunes, its entry and the QuickTime entry will recheck themselves in the startup list.

    ------------------------------------------------------

If you decide to get rid of CA Internet Security Suite, here are instructions for its removal.

Personally, I would replace it with

    Microsoft Security Essentials 2.0.657.0

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.50.1.1100

    SUPERAntiSpyware 4.48.0.1000

for combating viruses, malware, spyware, etc..

MSSE has "real time" monitoring. The free version of MBAM and SAS can be manually started to scan your computer(after you first update the definition files) whenever you decide to do it. All 3 are light on system resources and are well recommended in these forums.

Your HiJackThis log shows evidence of malware/spyware in your computer, so this would be a good reason for installing and putting MBAM and SAS to use.

If you decide to do so, let me know and I'll give you complete instructions for using them.

    -------------------------------------------------------

Go into these 2 temp folders:

    C:\WINDOWS\Temp

    C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Temp

then select and delete everything from inside those 2 temp folders. It's all junk and is a good place for "nasties" to hide. If a few files resist deletion, leave them alone and delete everything else.

After you're done, restart the computer.

    OK, good. (y)

Once the 3 of them are installed and the computer is restarted, start HiJackThis and do a scan and then submit the new log here.

Go into the C:\Program Files folder and see if the CA folder is still there after uninstalling CA Internet Security Suite. If it is, delete it.
