I am trying to assist a Win ME user who has a problem with his drop down menus (File, Edit, etc). Instead of appearing instantly they open extremely slowly, opening down and to the right. This is happening in all MS Office programs but not, as far as I can see, anywhere else on the system. Animation is NOT enabled in display properties. He thinks he caused this himself by changing a setting somewhere a while back but has no idea where or what. I am a 98 user and am not overly familiar with ME, can anybody help?

    Thanks Doyce....
Just solved it, actually it was the menu animation "feature" in MS Word which for some reason is located in Tools > Customise rather than Tools > Options
