Ok I'll try this again I have a small biz network. Server is win 2003 for file and print sharing. Workstations run Win XP Pro. Whenever I Try to open a Word document store on the server Word flashes 2-3 times sometime freezes but most of the time takes 30-60 seconds to open the document. I have the same version office on the server and the Workstation. This really cuts down on productivity any help would be appreciated. Hardware has been ruled out.

I was Told it is because I am running the application from the server. In this case MS Word. The Access data base file works fine. Do you know about thie? I will check out your link. Thanks

If you're running the application itself from the server, it would probably be slow. Most of the Office components are BIG, and they'd take some time to load over the network!
