I really want to get a clean start with my computer. My 13 year old son got his own for Christmas and I can finally have my laptop which is now sluggish and I'm sure cluttered with unnecessary items due to my son.

    Here is what I experience:

    • Everything gets sluggish A LOT.
    • If I don't use a fan and the computer gets hot it seems to really get sluggish or frozen.
    • Java is in a perpetual update state, no matter if I just updated it or not.
    • There is always a shockwave player or flash type crash
    • I don't think I have a virus, but I'm sure there is something clogging up my computer.
    • I'm afraid to do any sort of window's update since when I do it seems like it always screws something up. When I have it seems to sometimes screw up drivers and what not often making viewing online videos or even my own impossible.

    Here is what I have:
    • Computer running Window's 7 Home Premium
    • I use Chrome as my default browser
    • I use AVG as my antivirus (the free version)

Any help you can offer would be appreciated. I just deleted all the extra profiles on my computer. I would love to do everything possible to not make my computer feel like i brick I hate to use. It's not that old.

    Thanks in Advance.
