You can get rid of the following startup items:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\jusched.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroCheck] C:\WINDOWS\System32\\NeroCheck.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Works Update Detection] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Works Shared\WkUFind.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [A Verizon App] C:\PROGRA~1\VERIZO~1\HELPSU~1\VERIZO~1.EXE
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Aim6] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\Launch\AOLLaunch.exe" /d locale=en-US ee://aol/imApp

Also, If you don't use AOL, uninstall it. It's a resource hog! You may also want to consider switching your antivirus to AVG Free (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-anti-virus-free). IMHO (and supported by the following: http://mattbthompson.blogspot.com/2007/01/light-or-lighter-weight-aps-to-replace.html) Norton AV is possibly one of the worst pieces of software as far as resources go.

When was the last time you defragmented your hard drive? Either use the built-in defrag program or use Diskeeper (which will defrag your hard drive when it needs it, a great program).

    Good Luck!

Thanks for replying. I forgot how to remove them from the startup. Also you don't see any thing bad on the registry do you? I just defragged a couple days ago and that's when this started getting slow. I may virus programs, thanks for the tip.
All these icons have to come on the toolbar before I can start what I want to do, like the media card, and msn messenger, keyboard icon and etc.Is that what I am removing?

Yeah, that's pretty much what you'll be removing. To remove them go to Start>Run and type msconfig.

    Select the "Startup" Tab.

You can uncheck things in there that you don't want/need to startup. Play around with it a bit. You can't do any harm by deselecting a startup item. If you want to post a list of the items on the startup tab on msconfig I'll try to guide you some more.

Also, make sure your computer is up to date with Windows updates, and scan it for viruses and spyware.
