I have a win xp home system networked to a winxp pro that acts as the ICS gateway. When the win xp home system is started and the gateway system (win xp pro) in NOT running, the system takes several minutes extra to start...I assume its waiting for the ntwk connection to establish.

I quite often do not need the ntwk connection established on the win xp home system as it has separate isp access via a dial up modem and it saves me from running the second machine for nothing.

Is there a way to prevent the win xp home system from waiting on that ntwk connection on startup, and then if I do need it later a way for me to trun it on??

    thanx....doug
