Lately my computer is taking several seconds to load new webpages. It hangs on "Looking up techguy.org" or "Waiting for techguy.org"

It only happens when connecting to a new website that has net yet been connected to during the session. If I am in msn.com for example, and follow the internal links, it is very quick to load the pages under the same msn.com domain.

It happens in all web browsers, all high speed internet connections, and all network adapters (wired or wireless). Other computers on same network are fine.

I am running XP Professional SP3 fully up to date
Firefox and IE fully up to date.

I do have AVG free virus protection installed but disabling it does not seem to make a difference.

I'm not really sure where to go from here for troubleshooting. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
