I have Windows XP and have Norton, which I update regularly; Ad-aware, which I set up regular scans; have checked for viruses which Norton says there are none, but my computer is incredibly slow. It takes at least 4 minutes for each page to load and at times freezes up entirely. I'm also getting pop-ups from porno sites and others. The computer sounds like it is racing while I have it on and at times when I restart, I return to a blank screen.

Have spent so much time and $ in trying to figure out the problem. This site was referred to me by a friend and hope that someone here can please help me.

    Thank you ever so much

How much RAM do u hav in ur computer. If it is under I GB i recommend that you upgrade it, as for the pop ups it might be the case that ur Norton is getting old. Hav u also tried to clean ur computer or defragment the drive. Access this going on my computer right click on ur C drive, and disc cleanup

Thanks for your reply. My 2computer has well over 1 GB Ram and I have always kept an updated version of Norton. I should have mentioned this before, but I have already defragmented and cleaned up the disc
