Is there such a card out there that can play Half Life 2 and not break the bank. I do have a slot on my mobo and I cannot afford anything more than $100. I know that's cheap these days of the $500 card but it's all I can afford at the time. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

What I do when shopping for a PC product is this: Look around at stores, ads etc to see what I would like, just a bit out of my price range. Then, go to google.com, select a Froogle search ( for on-line shopping ), and look for what I want, at much cheaper prices. Here's the url for froogle: http://www.google.com/froogle?hl=en&tab=wf&ie=UTF-8&q=
    Hope this helps, Todd.

I bet if you look around you should be able to get a ATi 9600xt for around $100.

The 9600XTs are still about $125. Bummer, but I had already looked at them. Maybe a good hard search would come up with one cheaper but newegg is hard to beat.

You can get a plain 9800 for a buck or two more than the 9600XT. Well, maybe $30 more.

I'd take a 9800 over the 9600XT, but like I said it is more money. The 5700 is a decent card. That says allot coming from me. I use ATI exclusively.

    Hi

Howabout a Nvidia 6600 GT ? i am thinking of getting a new card soon but im in the same postion as you , i have always been a Nvidia card owner and i have been looking at the standered 6800 but its like £250 so i may go for the new 6600 GT ( £ 130-150) , its slower then the 6800 but faster then Nvidias ex flag ship model the FX 5950 Ultra.
