hi, for the last few days i have been getting a Card Error on my Smart Media card (128M) when using it with my FujiFilm A201 camera.

it works ok in the Card reader i have. so i saved all the info, then Formatted (Fat 32 & Fat)
now it just say Card Error, quickly followed by Card not initialized.

the card is only a couple of months old and the contacts look clean and unscratched.

anyone know how to fix this issue?

cheers

What did you do different to get the error?

Format in the camera for best results
do you have access to another camera/reader to try it in?

all i can think of that i have done differently recently is install and change all my system info from one HDD to another (which has had some negative effects?)

and regarding the formatting in camera, it won't let me now, however i cannot say if it would have done if i hadn't formatted using the PC.

i also just tried putting all the info (saved) back on the Card. which worked but i am still getting the same messages in the camera.

i was wondering if i could get a fuji camera from Argos try it in there, and then take the camera back, a bit convoluted but it's the only thing i can think of.

just checking the Argos option, it seems that all the fuji cameras they have use XD cards
