I am getting a thing when i try to install some softwar that it hasn't passed the xp logo testing. It has.

I am having this problem with direct x 9 and otherthings like my sound card drivers which have worked before.

Can anyone help me fix this problem?

Its the windows file protection prompt . You should be able to continue on..

no...not with the direct x one..it doesn't let me continue...

and why is it doing this to stuff it shouldn't be?

you get that message if you have turned off the cryptographics service.

start/run type services.msc and then scroll down to cryptographics and make sure it is set to automatic & started
