I seem to have goten the klez virus ,after running the
cleanup program I can't use my printers, part of the
directions for the cleanup was to disable system restore
and that wiped out the checkpoints from before the
problem. This is preventing me from restoring to before the error. Now none of my programs will print , I tryed to
uninstall and reinstal the printer but I get an incorect
paramiters mesage and the install aborts. I tryed a
diferent printer and was told Windows can not print due
to problems with printer set up *(had set it to be the
default printer) I did find backup files but I can not
figure out how to use them. I am lost as to how to trouble
shoot this. I think I may have caused errors in the regestry .Is there a scan that can fix regestry errors ? I posted several times in windows news groups but no help. But I got a note from someone else with the same problem. He was able to fix it with system restore .I have been 3 weeks trying to figure this out.I am wondering if I can use the restore disks to fix the regestry with out loosing all my data files. Any advice would be welcome
