hi my name is neil its my first time in here and i would be grateful of somebodys kind help. i am a 52 year old male who has only just started using a computer.

i have recently tried to play some music on windows media player only to get the following m,essage box - 0xC00D11BA: Cannot play the file

i have searched all over the internet to see if i can get help and this seems the best place.
i have read that i need to provide you with details from belarc so i have dowloaded these have pasted as below. i have tried to adjust settings in the sound menu in the control panel and it says in 'hardware' that audio codecs are working but the location is unknown - i dont know if this is the problem.

i would be grateful for help as i am so out of my depth it is unbelieveable!! thanks again, Neil.

What is the model number of your Packard Bell or NEC computer? This should be on the case of the computer or on a sticker attached to the case.

If its an iMedia 1309 then see here: http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?pn=PB34244901&g=2000
Download and install the Audio driver Realtek ACL655 VIA Audio Controller that they list and see if it helps.
