I am sorry if I post this in the wrong section :)

I am looking to make a e-Book for personal use, not commercial use, so I don't want to shell out money for a e-book writer, is there any thing on the net that will allow me to write an e-book for free?
Yes I have tried Google and I have tried Cnet, but with out success, can some one here point me in the right direction?

The e-Book I am trying to write will need to have the ability to add hyper links so it jumps from one part of the book to the other by clicking the link, also a table of contents also clickable.

Thank you..

You could create the e-book in word, then convert it a pdf. Depending on which device you intend to read the book on, the pdf will be viewable with the features you want.

yeah I never thought of using Open Office for this, how do I go about making a table of contents and then being able to click on that and have it jump straight to that part of the book?..Thank you for the advice...

I did a quick search on Google and found this from the Open Office Documentation. I did not read the whole document, but it appears to be possible to link parts of the content to a specific place in the document.
