I have one workstation (Win2K Pro) on a LAN that refuses to use the default workgroup security file. Every time you open Access 2003 it creates a new file named system1.mdw. I have deleted all of the system.mdw file and placed the correct workgroup file in the user profile and it is still ignored and still creates a new system1.mdw

I have not checked the Office SP level on the workstation and there are no older versions of access on the PC. I suppose I could use the /wrkgrp switch if all else fails.

    Thanks!

Have you used the workgroup manager to join the default group?

No, there is already a security file associated with an existing database. I just renamed the existing workgroup mdw file to system1.mdw and placed it in the users profile and it works. Not the solution I was looking for, but it works.
