so my acer extensa is really old and the same problem has been happening for 3 years
it would sunddelny stop turning on
i would get it to turn through switching the spots of the ram and pressing until it turned on
i would then do a factory reset and everything would work for around 5-8 months
then the problem would happen again and i'd factory reset again
after this problem started happening my pc's ram dropped to 756 mb
on the most recent factory reset though it turn out it had 1.8 gb
i think one ram was not slotted propperly?
anyway now it stopped working again and is back to 756 ram need help please since im tired of routine and just started playing my favourite games since i had 1.8 gb ram. now i can barely load these games help please

Maybe the RAM is defective and needs to be replaced.

Run a diagnostic test on your RAM to see what results you get.

I am not sure if your laptop may work with this instructions. Turn your computer off and then turn it back on again. While restarting press the F12 button and select diagnostics (or something like that) and follow on screen instructions.

Just tried f12 and it didn't work and I can't seem to find any record of a diagnostic tool or key on the internet help please?
Found the diagnostic tool but it says nothing wrong should I try switching rams over and see what happens or do u have other suggestions

have you tried by removing one RAM at a time to see what results you have. If you continue getting errors remove the other one and insert the one you removed. If still having problems maybe the hard drive is defective.

If your computer can work for at least 30 minutes try to run the crystal disc info. This will let you know immediately the condition of your hard drive.

If your hard drive is ok, then maybe your motherboard might be defective and needs to be replaced.

Select or download the portable edition (zip file)

alot of issues are now appearing and i think it is a ram problem
    lap turns on beeps twice
turns off then tries to turn on again before turning off
nothing comes up on the screen when this happens
also it fails to power on at all if chatger is plugged in sometieme
im wonderi if its posible for me to fix myself or if i need to take to a professional
also if i need new pars pleas say so

Take it to a technician to be checked and tell him to give you a quote before repairing. You decide if its worth repairing it or not.
