Solved: ad-hoc internet problems

    hi all hope some one can help.

    i have one toshiba laptop and one compaq desktop pc which are wirelessly connected ad-hoc(don´t wan´t a router in this system).

    there is no problems with the wireless connection both computers connect with excellent strength.

    the problem is that the laptop will not connect to the internet through the pc it always asks that i dial out to the telephonica dsl usb modem.

    any help would be great

    Have to start with a "dumb" question. Did you enable ICS? And configure any 3rd party firewalls to permit the ICS?

    cheers for the quick reply.

    yep ics is enabled on both m/c´s and the firewall is permitted the problem is that when i try to connect to the internet from the laptop through the ad-hoc connection IE will only ask to dial up the usb modem connection but won´t try to connect through the wireless connection.

    I know you said that you have an excellent connection between computers, but please show the ipconfig /all for each. And, you can ping each from the other, right?

    sorry terry this isn´t the computer(s) that i am using as i am at work (lol) so i will try and post the ipconfigs for them tomorrow but thanks for the help.

    removed dial up software and re-installed explorer on the toshiba now problem solved thanks for the help terry.
