Bought The Sims 2 a few days ago, and during the game it restarts my computer... searching around I figured it must be due to outdated drivers for my nVidia GeForce4 MX 420. So I naturally went to nvidia.com, and tried to download the newest drivers for Windows XP and the GeForce series and can get to the download pop-up window (the first one with the agreement thing) and then once accepted, it shows me the advertisments :p But after about 30 seconds of waiting, the page gives me a 'Page cannot be displayed' error.

I have tried every mirror they list, tried all the ones for the international version, tried everything for all the older drivers they had (all giving me the Page cannot be displayed thing :(), and even tried the 'Omega Drivers' made for nVidia... The game still resets and I cannot find the new drivers ANYWHERE else.

Disabled my firewall, set my IE browser security to the lowest, even tried a different browser, all of which didn't work :(

Anyone who could give me any advice on what to do now, I'm willing to do almost anything right now :p

    Thanks!!

If you have a firewall it could be blocking the download, try turning off to see if it then works.

Yeah, you have something blocking the download. I can get anything I want from Nvidia right now. If you have popup blockers or a firewall turn them off while you download the drivers.

That's weird, cause these are the only ones I'm getting there.

    Nvidia Corporation - Video - NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200
Download size: 12.2 MB, 3 minutes
NVIDIA display software update released on October 06 2003.

Yeah, under XP. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

I think I might see the problem, even though I put in the link you show, it automatically directs me to http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com. I'm guessing you have an older updater, or possibly aren't running SP2, so perhaps that's interfering on mine somehow.

It is MS being 'clever'. I actually did the browsing from Win 2k (v4). MS detect your OS and re-route you to the correct update page for it. I then forced a look at the whole update catalogue for all OS's and selected the drivers etc....
