    Hi

Could someone please tell me which CPU to go for between Intel Dual core T2390 and AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core QL60?

Both are on near identical Toshiba laptops at the same price. I will be using the laptop for basic web surfing, email, office, DVD watching, etc. No gaming or editing.

    Help would be appreciated.

    Cheers!

The T2390 is clearly faster than the AMD.

Basically theres not a great deal between the two, Clock speeds, L2 cache's, bus speeds are very similar. It's just really a case of personal preference, One which could start a long heated debate. Some people prefer Intel and others AMD. But between the two, and for what you will be using it for...It's just a toss of a coin?

Well, at least I thought the Intel's architecture makes it better, not actually clearly, but anyways. Although, with your uses, it doesn't make any big, propably even noticable differences...

if you are just using it for basic stuff, go with the cheaper one.
