In the not so distant past I remember being able to go to different Antivirus makers' websites and peruse their information on past/present viruses and global threat levels, maybe some white papers. Websites like the Kaspersky knowledge base, AVG, Norton, McAfee but now when I search for these sites and learning centers I'm just getting a bunch of spam or old sites, anyone know if their still out there?

Something like this for Kaspersky? http://usa.kaspersky.com/internet-security-center/#.VShJlZMbSzs

McAfee= http://www.mcafee.com/us/mcafee-labs.aspx <<<<Lots of information on threat reports, current situations, etc

Also, here>>> http://www.mcafee.com/us/community.aspx

You just have to look at the site map at the various company sites, usually you can find some kind of like the above....it may not be called Knowledge Base these days though.

Almost all of the main companies have user forums where you can find lots of information.

To look up specific malware by name, it's a bit tedious, because the various companies call each by distinctive names.....if you type in word for word the exact malware ID, you generally will get

only one company results, often there are "AKA" IDs so keep trying...

Norton/ Symantec >>>> http://www.symantec.com/security_response/landing/azlisting.jsp

http://www.symantec.com/security_response/index.jsp Take a look at the very bottom of this page::: http://us.norton.com/?inid=us_ghp_hho_topnav_segment
