i installed spy bot search and destroy and on reboot it seems that the program has decided not to let me run any exe files/applications!
im running xp and i cant find how to make the exe files work again.
the error message i get when clicking anything is

"this file does not have a program assosiated with it for performing this action.Create an association in the folder option control panel"

i just cant find that action!!!

Download this file to your desktop.
Then, double click on it and allow it to be added to your registry.
Reboot, and with any luck, all is well again.

    You're welcome.
You may want to post back (in a new thread) a copy of your HiJackThis log.
Just to ensure that you don't have something else "lingering".
