    Hiya

Looking at a laptop for someone, and there is a build up of dust etc on the back fan. Now, obviously I want to get inside to clean it, but removing the screws that are attached to the panel underneath isn't enough.

It feels like its still being held.

Does anyone know what I need to do to remove the back?

As you can tell, not used to laptops......yet :p

I'll have a good search when I'm at work tomorrow as well :)

    Thanks :)

Ah, so you have to go via the keyboard first, then remove the back screws, to get to the fan.

    Thanks, will look tonight (y)

*edit* Wait, I can see in the actual website that I can still go via the back. The first picture is what I need to get to :)

Yup, it has little plastic clips that still keep the panel in place. There's a notch on the one site where you can start to gently pry up on the panel.

Its all done and dusted (y)

When I opened it up, there was so much dust in there you could fill a vacum cleaner bag :p

Cleaned it out and its now good as new :)

Apart from losing a fan screw on the floor and spending 3 days looking for it, of course ;)

    Thanks
