Solved: Audio Isn't Working.

    I just installed Windows XP Home Service Pack 2. But, I cant find the right driver for my audio card. I my computer only says the manufacturer. Anyone know a way to find the other information about it?

    are you using a sound card or is it onboard - who is the manufacturor?

    it says manufacturer is Gateway 2000, and it is in the back of my computer in the slot things. Forget what they are called.

    So yes, its a sound card.

    Install this, it will tell you the model and make, then we can easily find the drivers

    EDIT: Sorry, wrong link, this is the correct one http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php

    Or you can do this - Start>Run> here type "dxdiag" without the brackets and press enter. Here you should find the information we need (under the "sound" tab).

    Under DxDiag, this comes up:

    No sound card was found. If one is expected, you should install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.

    I already have PC Wizard Installed, it comes up with this:
    Device Audio : 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller
    Then, under manufacturer it says:
    Gateway 2000

    I went to the gateway site and couldnt find anything. I searched like every string in the title of it.

    I'm guessing you have a toshiba laptop, right?

    wow, exe file is soo slow. It stopped downloading.
