My computer seems to be getting hung up when I shut it down . The End task message always comes up. My question is ; "Can I find out which program is not shutting down properly and how" ? Thanks . See you later . D.

Go to start button, run, then type msconfig and hit ok....go to the startup tab and from there you can experiment.

You can also post the list if you want us to look it over...start button, run, then type msinfo32 and hit ok...go to software, startups, edit, select all, edit, copy and come back and paste.

Thank you very much for your advice ; although I should have said that I use windows 98 ; msinfo32 came up as a bad command . I went to start-up edit and did what you advised ; got rid of a lot of junk . The old clunker shuts off properly again . Thanks again for your "GREAT ADVICE " . ..... Don
