I have 2010 Sony PC windows 7; I am trying to do my backup for the first time using Windows backup and restore system, but it keeps telling me "insert removable media"; I insert a DVD-R in my PC, but the backup system doesn't seem to see it.

Could you please tell me how can I make my PC do the backup?

    Thanks,
    Sima

Do you know for sure that your optical drive supports DVD-R? Some support only DVD+R.

    Hi TerryNet,

    DVD-r is a typo, sorry! Actually I am using DVD + R.

    Any suggestion?

Well, I then have to turn my question around. :)

Do you know for sure that your optical drive supports DVD+R? Some support only DVD-R.

I don't have any suggestions about the Windows 7 Backup and Restore; decided to use Macrium Reflect Free instead.

Thank you very much TerryNet and dstyjay for your great quick reply. I could after all use Windows7 backup and restore program. It's much easier than I thought. If anyone want to know how to do it, I'll be glad to explain.
