I'm working on this Gateway 560GE tower. The memory tested bad in it, I threw in some other RAM and it tested bad as well. I then tested the same RAM in another computer and it tested fine. I replaced the motherboard and again no matter what RAM i throw in it it tests bad. I checked the disk with spinrite and it is fine. I've never had a CPU go bad on me, am I missing anything else?

Go into bios and take a look around.
Check what ram frequencies are compatible with the gateway.
Check if theres any bios updates regarding to memory fixes.

Hope this helps?

I tracked the problem down to an old version of memtest. Windows Memory Diagnostic didn't report a problem with the RAM. I was using memtest off the Ultimate Boot CD. I downloaded the latest memtest ISO and it all tests fine.
