I am running Windows XP... Left my computer on during the night, came back to it this morning.. Got a BLACK SCREEN.. I moved the mouse and nothing... I check the cords, unplugged it and connected them again and rebooted and still BLACK SCREEN... Any suggestions??

I plugged it into the computer and plugged it into the wall.. I dont get any lights on the monitor, should I atleast get an orange light on the monitor saying that it has power to it??

If there is power going to the monitor you would get a light. Sounds like your monitor got fried. Power surge during the night? How old is the monitor?

Do you hear anything when you tried to start up the pc?

If the monitor is less then a week old I'd check the warranty for replacement, especially since you don't really know the cause of the breakdown.

Like I said earlier, sounds like that monitor is toast. If you have another one I would try a different monitor but check out your warranty for the "new" one. Good luck. :)
