    I'm trying to get my block statement to work in eclipse, but the program has decided to make my life hard. So, this is what I typed in:

    public class BlockDemo {
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    double i, j, d;
    if(i != 0); {
    System.out.println("i does not equal zero");
    d = j / i;
    System.out.print("j / i is "+ d);

    From what I understand, if i = 0, then the code should not show up. However, it does. It's as if the if statement is being ignored . Any ideas as to where my error may lie? Help is greatly appreciated.
