Dell 4600i. Windows XP. At boot up I get an alert message every time I start the system. "Alert! Previous fan failure. Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility." I hit F1 and the boot continues without any problems. I replaced the fan with a highspeed fan about a year ago and have had this alert for about six months.

How do I get rid of this alert message. The fan seems to be workiing properly. Is this message telling me I still have a fan failure that I don't know about?

    Thanks.

Hit F2. Turn off keyboard messages. Make sure fans are working!
