A few days ago my IE all of a sudden started going to res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\shdoclc.dll/navcancl.htm and loading every time a new page with a pop up, which are some sort of search engines telling me to buy spyware fighting software. Changing home page only works for 1 reboot of IE. Additionally I can't go anywhere. I installed Firefox for temporary usage before I can fix the problem. I downloaded Spybot S&D and Ad Aware. They apparently found a lot of problems and fixed them. However my problem wasn't fixed. I downloaded Hijack this, and my log is below. I tried fixing the:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://default.home
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://default.home

which are pretty obviously problems. But they keep coming back. I have Windows XP Home and IE 6. I have no clue about this stuff, so detailed help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for replying. I updated Spybot and Ad-Aware SE, and ran full scans on both, found some things and got rid of them. Unfortunately I was not able to use Housecall and Panda. They require me to use IE, and like I said above my IE is impossible to work with. Rebooted, downloaded the new HJT and here's the new log:

    Hi Bodia

    Welcome to TSG! :)

Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall the following:

MyWay or MyWay Speedbar or similar
QuickSearch SearchBar or Toolbar or similar
    New.Net (NewDotNet)

If New.Net will not uninstall do this:

First Click here to download LspFix

You may not need it, but go ahead and download it just in case.

Now go here and scroll to the bottom of the page to Precedure 4 and download and run the New.Net uninstaller.

If you lose your internet connection after running the New.Net uninstaller, Run LspFix, and click Finish. (Don't do anything else)

That should restore the internet connection.

Click Here and download the the new version of Killbox and save it to your desktop.

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Now put a tick by Delete on Reboot. In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file. It will ask for confimation to delete the file on next reboot. Click Yes. It will then ask if you want to reboot now. Click No. Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\CTFMON32.EXE

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\CSRSSU.EXE

    D:\Programs\3DsMax5.1\crack\run.exe

    Exit the Killbox.

Run Hijack This again and put a check by any of these that remain. Close ALL windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Now find and delete any of these folders that remain:

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

    You're Welcome! :)

    Now turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
    Click Properties.
    Click the System Restore tab.
    Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn System Restore back on and create a restore point.

    To create a restore point:

Single-click Start and point to All Programs.
Mouse over Accessories, then System Tools, and select System Restore.
In the System Restore wizard, select the box next the text labeled "Create a restore point" and click the Next button.
Type a description for your new restore point. Something like "After trojan/spyware cleanup". Click Create and you're done.

Check this out for info on how to tighten your security settings and some good free tools to help prevent this from happening again.

Did everything like you said with system restore. Once again thanks a lot. If I'd have a job I'd make a donation.
