I'm looking for a scanner to scan sports cards for ebay. I've checked out printer/scanner combos, but don't know if the quality is as good as either item separately. Can anyone recomend a good scanner for this type of application? Thanks for any advice in advance!

Any scanner nowadays can scan at a better quality (resolution) that what Ebay needs.
Might as well get a Combo and get a good printer with it.
The cost won't be much more than the Inkjet cartridges that come with it.

I kinda like HP combos ... My next one will be a cheaper version without the mem card reader or USB ports built in.

Here's one similar to what I have ... Without the extras that I don't use

The only problem might be the HP Image Zone Software to run the Scanner.
But I know other ways to run it without loading all the HP junk .. If you're interested.

Going to need to know the AIO model number and your OS.
for that F4280 and XP ...
    I'd go here .. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3390949
and get the basic driver (36.49MB) .. the first DL
This'll load the scanner Twain driver ... Then you can use Windows Camera n Scanner wizard to operate the scanner.

I always replace the windows junk viewer with the freeware Irfanview ..
http://www.irfanview.com/ .. and use it to run my HP scanners.
Irfanview is also a basic image editor ... the scan is acquired into Irfanview where it can be edited before saving it somewhere.

HP Image Zone has caused me many problems .. so I work without it.
