Hello, I am able to browse the internet using IE, however am not able to log into X-Fire, MSN, Ventrilo, or Multiplayer games.
I was connected to DSL at my old house and it worked just fine, but as soon as I arrived here and hooked up to Cable I haven't been able to do any of the previously mentioned actions.
I have googled, and searched various tech forums to no avail.
http://www.computing.net/answers/gaming/cannot-connect-to-servers/9092.html
seems to closely resemble what I am expieriencing. I have tried everything mentioned in that topic with no positive results. I do not have PeerGuardian or ZoneAlarm or any of the like.
I have completely disabled Windows Firewall but that didn't work. I have made exceptions on the firewall, and virus protection with no positive results. Please, any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, advice, or anything else...post
here is my setup...
wall--->modem--->laptop
neither wired/wireless works properly the modem is a Motorola SBG900
Just another thing to add...I have the same problem when I ran Windows XP in VMWare with no Firewall or any type of protection whatsoever.
I believe it's something with the IP, maybe when I moved things are trying to read the old IP maybe? This is VERY frustrating
ANY suggestions PLEASE!
I have tried doing winsock and such...with nothing
