I have the router and the wireless adapter, but I don't currently have the disc containing the wireless software (although I know who has it and I can get it back soon). Is there any way that I can set up a wireless connection without it, or will I need to get that disc back?

    cleggcaliban,

Nope, you don't need the disc. Almost all (if not, all) manufacturers have their drivers available for download on their website. Just do a Google, or your favorite search engine, search for the wireless adapter manufacturer and follow links on their page for drivers/downloads, or their help pages.

If you need any help, just post your the maker and model for your adapter and I'd be glad to help you out.

    I have a WGR614 v9.

Just to be clear, I already have the necessary software installed on the computer with the router, which is mine. The other computer was recently reformatted and someone else has the disc. I need the software that I would use on the computer that isn't currently connected to the internet, the one with the wireless adapter installed.

You can get the software for the computers wireless adapter from the manufacturers website. We can help you find it if you provide the manufacturer and model number for thw wireless adapter, and which operating system it is running.

    cleggcaliban,

So you would need to downs load the files from here on the connected computer and transfer them via a USB thumb drive, CD, etc. to the non-connected PC.

Thanks for the help, but I managed to get a hold of the disc. Everything's working now. Sorry for the trouble.
