It's been over a month since I payed a visit to China I cannot access to facebook and youtube ever after that ( I am in US now). However sometimes I can actually do it but most of the time it just couldn't open those websides. I looked up the hosts which seems fine.

    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
    # localhost name resolution is handle within DNS itself.
    # 127.0.0.1 localhost
    # ::1 localhost

So I tried the other way.

114.114.114.114 in your log is a Chinese DNS server which is likely the cause of the problem. You need to open TCP/IPv4 properties for your wireless adapter and tick the button for "Obtain DNS server address automatically". This will cause the computer to use the DNS server address assigned by your router/modem.

Edit: If you already have this setting, then the DNS server address is coming from your router/modem and you need to change it there.

Can you please tell me how you solved this? I am having the same problem, even with my wireless TCP/IP settings on "Obtain DNS server address automatically." The problem should not be with my modem/router, as I can access all sites from other computers connected thereto (i.e., these sites are only blocked on my laptop, which I brought back with me from China).

    Thanks in advance!
