    Hi :)

I tried to burn a disc last night through windows media player and it keeps saying to connect a burn device.
I only burned a disc last week and it was working fine then so cannot understand why its saying that

Ive even tried to do it through iTunes thinking it was something to do with the media player but that wont work either! That looks like it's going to do it and says its writing the 1st song, then it cancels it and ejects the disc!

    Any idea whats going on??

See if anything here helps: http://www.ehow.com/about_5449078_wont-windows-media-player-burn.html

Also, you should consider using dedicated burning software rather than using a media player to do that job.
Dedicated burning software often works when the media player method doesn't.

Contrary to what some people might think, you don't have to use a media player to burn music to CD/DVD.
In fact, doing it with a media player is a bad idea - but many people use that method because WMP and iTunes are already installed so it saves them having to install anything else.

You don't necessarily have to buy burning software (though they are usually better than the free ones). Some free ones here:

    BurnAware: http://www.burnaware.com/
CDBurnerXP: http://cdburnerxp.se/ (despite it's name, it's not just for Windows XP).
