    Hello all,

My computer recently got a virus. After finally getting rid of it, I decided to download a new antivirus software, Avast. When performing a boot-time scan, Avast found some files that were "corrupted". I decided to quarantine them. After the scan, I cannot access the internet. When I hit the "diagnose" button, I get an error message that reads "The DHCP client service is not running on this computer".

When I go to Services and try and start the DCHP client, I get an error message that reads "Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion".

I have read through numerous threads on these forums and others, and tried a lot of suggestions, but nothing has worked this far. Can anyone give me some insight? I would really appreciate it!

Also, this is my first post on these forums, so if I left anything out please let me know. I have Windows Vista.

    Thanks!
