I copied some files from a DVD that was having some reading errors to my pendrive. Somehow, a few files have strange characters at the end of the file name. I cannot rename or erase this files from my pendrive. Each time I try, I have this error message:
"The file name you specified is not valid or too long. Specify a different name."
Any suggestion how I can get rid of this files?

The pendrive has also some software installed that makes it work on the computer. If I format it, it will also erase the software that is on it.

I checked the pendrive, on the main folder is
    autorun.inf
    LaunchU3.exe
    plus a subfolder Launchpad.zip with 16 files

the only other way that might work is use the old 8.3 file naming convention
change the x to the name of the drive, whatever the pen drive is
& then paste the line into the command window on your computer

    del x:\chocol~1 <press enter>

    then try del X:\tavasz~1

if you have more files to delete then use the same style of naming
    del X:\ the first 6 characters~1

U3 software is a launcher. It's not required to be able to use the flash drive. You can reinstall it if you really want to and actually use it.

With all this new Windows stuff, I near forgot that ole nice MS-DOS that works so fine.
I used in that DOS command:
    del G:\Documents\Downloads\*.*
and it erased all that crazy files in that folder.
Thanks for reminding me of that.
