 Hi All, Can anyone explain to me, why....
when i dial- up to my ISP......I sometimes hear
a different ring tone, and i get the response........
The computer you are dialing to is not answering.....Please wait and try again?? this has been happening every so often......I'd like to try
and find out if there's anything i can do?

Probably the computer you are dialing is experiencing difficulties or is just too busy to answer your call at that moment. I can only think of two things for you to do:

1. Try again (not very original!).

2. Call your ISP support and ask what's going on; are they overloaded, or what; And what are they doing about it.

They said they were having troubles,, and gave me a new dial-up number.......So far so good,
I connected the first try.
Thanks Again, chuck-HD.

Hey, that's good, chuck-HD. Always good to ask your ISP what's going on when you have trouble connecting like that.

I had trouble like this before, and i was on the phone
with the ISP for a long time, and they said it was my
modem, i guess not.......At least now i have about 4
different dial-up numbers......If one does'nt work, i'll
try another one.
Thanks Again,
