My computer crashed (motherboard - not disk) so i removed my hard disk and installed it in another computer. However, I cannot access my files in my \documents and settings\owner directory. It tells me it is not accessible - access is denied. I did have a user account set up on that drive. I remember what the password was but not the account name. Is there any way to remove the security on that directory so I can access my files? This is all on my original hard drive which I installed as my secondary drive on this machine.
    Thanks

    Welcome to TSG!

You'll need to take ownership of those folders. The best article around is found in the Microsoft Knowledge Base---KB 308241

The article includes instructions specific to XP Home and XP Professional--the techniques are slightly different.

    Good luck...
