I'm currently trying to fix this Win2000 PC, the issue that it's having is that it can't connect to the internet at all.
When I connect the ethernet cable in, the system tray icon appear, telling me that it connect. However, when I open a browser, I can't navigate to any site at all.
To trouble shoot, I open command prompt, and do a loop back ping, and I received the replies, so I know that the NIC isn't bad.
I have a wireless laptop that I can connect to my wireless router, and is working fine, so the router is not bad either.
I then use ipconfig /all and the result is that I have only the autoIPs, no DNS, and no gateway address.
The TPC/IP protocol setting for this PC is all set to automatically optain address.
I check device manager for device conflict, none. (shouldn't be this anyway)
I have turn off both PC and modem + router and let power cycle them.
What are my next options?
ipconfig /flushdns ??????
