Solved: Can't connect Windows 7 to Secured Wireless Network

I am running a secure wireless network using a CradlePoint MBR-1000. I currently have 2 Dell computers and 2 Toshiba computers running Windows XP that work great. I just purchased 2 new Toshiba computers (Model L550) to replace the old ones and they run Windows 7. I cannot get them to run on the wireless network.

I have upgraded the firmware on the CradlePoint to the latest version and that did not help. The Toshiba sees the network "ZZZ" but gives an error message of "limited access" and will not allow any internet access.

Help please!

Can the new PCs connect successfully by ethernet?

What encryption are you using on the router?

Disable encryption and MAC Address filtering (access control) and try to connect. Assuming success re-enable encryption and try to reconnect. If still no go please show ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

The computer will connect when connected directly to the router using an Ethernet cable.

The encryption is a WEP security mode and I enter a MAC address for the computers that I want to allow access.

Tried to connect after I disabled encryption on router but it was a no go...

Here is the configuration.

Are you sure you entered the correct MAC address for the new computers?

Make sure you have the latest wireless driver for each from the PC manufacturer's web site.

After updating router firmware you should reset to factory default settings and reconfigure. Did you?

Yes, updating the router firmware was the 1st thing I tried.

The MAC address I am using is "70-1A-04-81-55-22"

The laptop sees the "ZZZ" network and tries to connect to it, but I get a limited connectivity or limited access error and it won't allow any internet connection at all. Also, when using Ethernet it came up as a "home" network, but when trying to access it wireless, it shows as a "public" network.

When I tried that I lost the the ability to connect with the computers that were previously working okay. I had to reboot the router and set everything up from scratch....when I did the router gave me a new WEP key (don't know why but it was a different one). Once I entered this in the new laptops everything seems to be working okay.

Thanks for your help!!
