When I try to delete jpg images from 'my documents folder', the system makes a copy of the image I am deleting/have deleted. I have tried moving all the images to their own file, but the same thing keeps happening - the system just makes a copy of the image. I probably have about 100 jpg images that I want to delete. I am highlighting 10 to 20 images at once prior to deleting/moving the images.
I am using windows XP. Can you help me with this issue please.

Where are the copies made? Where are you moving the files to?

If you choose a single file, right-click and delete, what happens?

What imaging software is installed/running on your machine?

The copies are single jpg images in 'my documents' folder. I have created a folder within the my documents folder to put all the jpg images into, but as soon as I move them, another copy is created of the single images in the 'my documents' folder. I now have about five copies of each image.
I think I am running windows media for the imaging software.
I will try to delete each file individually as you recommend and see how that goes. It will take me ages to complete, so I will let you know how I go.

Did you use any third party software to copy these file there to start with?
If so what program did you use?

I just copied them straight from the internet into my documents folder. I have used them for teaching purposes.

Elvandil , I have just deleted all the jpg images individually and that seems to have done the trick!
    Many thanks

Computers have a mindset that I often don't understand, but at least it worked. Thanks & bye.
