    Hi guys.
I have a second hard drive that's lost all of its content so I thought I'de format it before reloading my data.
I'm tried to format my drive without success.
I've tried through both Windows explorer and disk management.
It shows that it's formatting but sits at 1% for ever.
    Any ideas guys?

How did it loose its content in the first place? And what make and model is it?

You may want to try a disk management tool to check over the vaiablity of the drive in the first place - it could be hanging on a bad sector in or around the boot.

Formatting a drive won't get rid of a hardware corruption or failure. A mechanical device must fail sometime, so how old is the drive?

I ain't tried your solutions yet, but I'll answer your questions first.

    Arknorth. It's a Western Digital 250G
Thanks Saikee. It's only one year old. Still in warranty.
TheOutcast thanks for the links, I'll get on with them.
LaDon. Yes I did try that.

I'll repost once I've tried the links.

From the programs I've downloaded it loocks like my HD is knackered. As it's in warranty I'm going to send it back.
For info, the program reported it had a head crash.
