have you tried turning off the PC and actually unplugging the drive and the IDE cable on both ends and then reinserting the cable and restarted?

Maybe hard to say, will it work in another PC or will another cd-rom drive work in your PC?

yes I thought of that too,a friend of mine told me to remove jumper and reset the drive. I have another drive I`ll try to install it,if nothing changes OS reinstall probably the only solution.(Or not)
