Solved: CD/DVD tray

    my CD/DVD tray will not stay closed.
    When I power up it pops open then every time it closes it pops open.
    Checked with anti virus, etc.... HELP!

    Check to see if the eject button is stuck or the track may not be aligned correctly.

    what computer model? some computers have fake door covers over their cd/dvd drives and it may get out of align causing similar problems.

    some things to try

    1. check your task manager and see if there is anything in startup that accesses the drive.
    2. try cleaning the drive
    3. see if there is a driver update for the drive.
    4. scan your system for malware.

    if none of the above helps, at what point does the drive open? before or after the screen that shows the operating system.

    did a scan for malware, checked the tray button and its good. did a cleaning.
    still driving me nuts

    Also, if its a brand name system like an Acer,Dell or HP, please post the exact model of the system.

    note, when I close the dvd tray the mechanical sound opens the tray. it does not just pop open..
