(Solved) changing browser defaults...

    from my friend who just changed from a mac to windows --

    ''how do i change my browser's default in xp from windows media player to real one player"

    i have no idea...

    You won't need to do anything to the browser

    just open real player & file/tools/preferences/ scroll down to content..media types and tick anything you want real player to be the default player for, then when your browser finds a media of that type it will auomagically open Real player.

    Most people want to find some way of STOPPING real player snatching all file types, you are unusual in wanting the reverse

    i tried...and tried...we're in different states...his brother'll be over tomorrow to change the default...:rolleyes:

    he's worse'n i...plus, prefers realplayer!:p

    if you are using XP and have service sp-1 installed..
    go to
    start
    all programs
    set program access and defaults
    custom
    and then uncheck wmd and select real player
    hope this helps
