Good day experts,

This is how it goes, i'm purchasing a new hard drive ide-ata,and i will lend that hardware to my friend to add onto it, his compilation of ( mp3 and mpegs and some word documents),

i'm not sure if his own system is completely virus free or not..

and i will add that hard drive to my pc,maybe as a primary slave,or secondary master since my own hard drive is a maxtor 80gig ata ide-pimary master.

my question is: how can i boot up my system safely, without sacrificing to viruses and other forms of trojans.

need some light to this issue.

You should be able to open your AV (Anti Virus) and select the drive and scan it or just right the drive click the drive and scan with whatever AV you have installed.
Might be an idea to scan for malware as well with adaware or whatever you have.

Should be quite safe to do that, but make sure you have your AV etc up to date first.
