    Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

    Click here to download HJTInstall.exe
    • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
    • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
    • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
    • Click on Install.
    • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
    • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
    • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
    • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
    • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
    • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

    Download OTScanIt.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.
    1. Close any open browsers.
    2. If your Real protection or Antivirus intervenes with OTScanIt, allow it to run.
    3. Open the OTScanit folder and double-click on OTScanit.exe to start the program.
    4. Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
    5. The program will be scanning huge amounts of data so depending on your system it could take a long time to complete. Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
    6. When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
    7. Save that notepad file
    If the log is too large to post, use the Reply button, scroll down to the attachments section and attach the notepad file here.

    • Save it to your desktop.
    • Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
    • Copy the lines in the quote box below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

    • Return to OTMoveIt2, right click in the "Paste Custom List Of Files/Patterns To Move" window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Click the red Moveit! button.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
    • Close OTMoveIt2
    Note: If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. In this case, after the reboot, open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.

    Now restart the machine and try it again.

    Start OTScanIt. Copy/Paste the information in the Code box below into the pane where it says Paste fix here and then click the Run Fix button.

    Code:
    [Kill Explorer]
    [Processes - Non-Microsoft Only]
    YY -> searchsettings.exe -> %ProgramFiles%\Search Settings\SearchSettings.exe
    [Registry - Non-Microsoft Only]
    < Run [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\] > -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    YY -> Base frag grid bows -> %AllUsersProfile%\Application Data\Cast ping base frag\Grim Type.exe [C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Cast ping base frag\Grim Type.exe]
    YN -> LaunchApp -> []
    YY -> SearchSettings -> %ProgramFiles%\Search Settings\SearchSettings.exe [C:\Program Files\Search Settings\SearchSettings.exe]
    < Internet Explorer Settings [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\] > ->
    YY -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\: URLSearchHooks\\{E312764E-7706-43F1-8DAB-FCDD2B1E416D} [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE] -> %ProgramFiles%\Search Settings\kb127\SearchSettings.dll [SearchSettings Class]
    < BHO's [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE] > -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\
    YY -> {E312764E-7706-43F1-8DAB-FCDD2B1E416D} [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE] -> %ProgramFiles%\Search Settings\kb127\SearchSettings.dll [SearchSettings Class]
    < Downloaded Program Files > -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\
    YN -> {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A}[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE] -> http://zone.msn.com/bingame/popcaploader_v10.cab[PopCapLoader Object]
    [Files/Folders - Created Within 30 days]
    NY -> 1 C:\WINDOWS\System32\*.tmp files -> C:\WINDOWS\System32\*.tmp
    NY -> 1 C:\WINDOWS\*.tmp files -> C:\WINDOWS\*.tmp
    [Files/Folders - Modified Within 30 days]
    NY -> 79 C:\Documents and Settings\Michelle\Local Settings\Temp\*.tmp files -> C:\Documents and Settings\Michelle\Local Settings\Temp\*.tmp
    NY -> 192 C:\WINDOWS\Temp\*.tmp files -> C:\WINDOWS\Temp\*.tmp
    [Empty Temp Folders]
    [Start Explorer]
    [Reboot]

    The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix.
    Post that information back here.

    I will review the information when it comes back in.

    Also post a new hijackthis log and Run HijackThis and click on "Config" and then on the "Misc Tools" button.
    If you're viewing HijackThis from the Main Menu then click on "Open the Misc Tools Section".
    Click on the "Open Uninstall Manager" button.
    Click the "Save List" button.
    Copy and paste that list here.
